The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has significantly advanced its mission to develop technically skilled Nigerian youth through the successful completion of an intensive training program on crucial safety technologies.
Practical Training for Industrial Safety
Conducted in partnership with Bellazir Limited, the program equipped fifty young professionals with hands-on expertise in addressable fire alarm systems, high-end gas detector calibration, and modern access control solutions. The multi-day training immersed participants in practical sessions that covered operational principles, installation procedures, and vital maintenance processes.
Facilitators emphasized the direct relevance of these technologies to enhancing industrial safety, preventing risks, and ensuring uninterrupted operations across key national sectors.
Aligning with National Development Goals
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Felix Omatsola Ogbe, stated the initiative was designed to deepen Nigeria's human capacity in specialized fields critical for protecting infrastructure within the energy and industrial value chains.
Represented by the Supervisor on Projects, Collins Emuobonuvie, Ogbe confirmed the program's alignment with the Federal Government's Renewed Hope Agenda, specifically supporting objectives for job creation, youth empowerment, and sustainable economic growth.
"At NCDMB, we firmly believe that building local capacity is central to achieving sustainable development," Ogbe stated. He praised the trainees' dedication and highlighted that their new skills position them for vital roles in hazard detection and facility protection.
Commitment to Safety and Innovation
The Chief Executive Officer of Bellazir Energy, Christabel Aniemeka, explained that the training's depth reflected her company's drive to equip young Nigerians with the knowledge required to operate and maintain critical safety systems. She noted the program successfully blended advanced technologies with practical procedures that support operational efficiency.
Ogbe urged all participants to become safety leaders and innovators, using their new competencies to help safeguard national assets. He also commended Bellazir Limited and the facilitators for their commitment to delivering a successful program that strengthens Nigeria's industrial safety culture.
