The Federal Government of Nigeria has issued a strong condemnation following a devastating bomb explosion at a mosque in the Gamboru Market area of Maiduguri, Borno State. The attack, which occurred recently, resulted in the tragic loss of approximately five lives and left several other worshippers with injuries.

In an official statement released on Thursday, Vice President Kashim Shettima described the incident as a direct assault on innocent citizens and the nation's hard-earned peace. Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mandated an immediate and significant intensification of security operations across Borno State in direct response to the attack.
The Vice President confirmed that the government has already initiated the deployment of additional tactical security teams to the affected region. Their primary objective is to track down, apprehend, and ensure that those responsible for this heinous act face the full consequences of the law. "The Federal Government will not tolerate any attempt to undermine the peace and security of our nation," Shettima declared emphatically.

While labeling the bombing a despicable act of terrorism, Vice President Shettima was resolute in stating that such violence would not fracture Nigeria's unity or weaken its determination to combat terror.
