The deadly assault took place on the night of Saturday, November 8, 2025. According to journalist Bakatsine, who confirmed the incident, the armed assailants arrived at the checkpoint on motorcycles. Without warning, they opened fire on the security personnel present. The attack resulted in the death of one officer, who has been identified as DSC .S. Mohammed. Following the violent engagement, the gunmen withdrew from the scene, reportedly heading towards the dense forests near the border.
