Through their lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, the family urged President Tinubu to personally intervene and visit them. In a petition dated May 25, 2026, addressed to President Tinubu via the Chief of Staff, Adeyanju, acting on behalf of the Olugbade family, demanded urgent action to recover the late teacher's remains and rescue other victims still held captive by the abductors.

Olugbade was abducted on May 15, 2026, alongside other victims when armed terrorists attacked the school community. The family remains in anguish, awaiting justice and the return of their loved one's body for proper burial.
