Prophet Ayodele Issues Dire Warning Over Potential Terrorist Bomb Attacks in Nigeria
Prophet Babatunde Elijah Ayodele, the founder and leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church in Oke Afa, Lagos State, has issued a grave warning about imminent bomb attacks targeting multiple states across Nigeria. This alert comes in the wake of a devastating bomb blast in Maiduguri, Borno State, which resulted in the tragic deaths of at least 23 individuals and left approximately 108 others injured.
Security Loopholes and External Threats Highlighted
In a formal statement released on Friday, March 20, and communicated through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Prophet Ayodele emphasized that terrorist groups are actively positioned to strike in various regions, awaiting specific instructions to launch their assaults. He further alleged that these militant factions are receiving support from external forces, effectively encircling several states and preparing to execute coordinated attacks that could severely compromise national safety.
Prophet Ayodele stated, "Bombing has not yet started at all. Insecurity can cause Nigeria what is not because terrorist groups are on a rampage, including external ones." He acknowledged the efforts of key security officials, such as the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, the Nigerian Navy, and the Department of State Services (DSS), but criticized the overall flexibility and vulnerabilities within Nigeria's security framework. "They have done well, but our security is too flexible; there are loopholes in the security of Nigeria," he remarked.
Call for Decisive Action Amidst Persistent Insecurity
The prophet warned that without immediate and decisive intervention, the security situation in Nigeria could deteriorate further, with bombings likely to escalate and kidnappers also poised to intensify their activities. He expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of foreign assistance, particularly from the United States, in resolving the nation's deep-rooted security crises. "If we don’t take the steps to end this menace, it will be an endless fight even with America coming to assist. They will only do the little they can do," Ayodele cautioned.
He also directed a message to President Bola Tinubu, advising that the internal security challenges pose a greater threat than external issues. "The president doesn’t need many security people to follow him out; the problems inside are more than what is outside. They will use everything to embarrass security personnel, and I don’t see it stopping," he added, underscoring the urgent need for robust internal security measures.
Broader Context and Previous Warnings
This warning aligns with Prophet Ayodele's history of issuing prophetic alerts on national issues. Previously, he had cautioned presidential appointees, such as Bashir Adeniyi of the Nigeria Customs Service and Nwakuche Ndidi of the Nigerian Correctional Service, about potential dismissals if they are not vigilant. His latest statements highlight a persistent pattern of insecurity in Nigeria, where terrorist activities and communal conflicts continue to threaten public safety and stability.
The ongoing security concerns in Nigeria, as highlighted by Prophet Ayodele, reflect broader challenges in combating terrorism and enhancing national defense mechanisms. Authorities are urged to heed these warnings and implement comprehensive strategies to address the identified loopholes and external influences fueling the threats.
