The Nigerian Army has released new details about the joint Nigeria-United States military operation that resulted in the death of Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, an ISIS commander considered one of the group's most influential figures globally.
Fortified hideout in Metele
According to intelligence reports, al-Minuki and his network had constructed a heavily fortified enclave in Metele, a community in Borno State long associated with insurgent activities. The location served as a concealed operational base where the group coordinated movements and planned attacks across the Lake Chad region.
