The Chairman of Tangaza Local Government Area, Isa Saleh Bashir, provided confirmation of the military action. In an interview with the BBC, Bashir stated that the strikes were directed at bush paths and suspected camps used by terrorist elements operating in the region.
He specifically mentioned that villages, including Tandami, were affected during the operation. The council chairman clarified that while official casualty figures are still being compiled, there were confirmed injuries as a result of the attacks.

Bashir revealed that security forces from the neighbouring Niger Republic, who were on patrol, observed members of the notorious Lakurawa terrorist group fleeing the area shortly after the bombardment.
"Reports indicate that Niger Republic security forces on patrol said they saw Lakurawa fleeing the area," Bashir told the BBC. This suggests the airstrikes successfully disrupted the group's activities, forcing them to abandon their positions.
