The Director-General of the Atum Humanitarian, Anti-Corruption and Charitable Initiative (AHACCI), Hon. Ismaila Atus, has voiced strong confidence in President Bola Tinubu's ability to defeat the terrorism and banditry plaguing Nigeria, stating that the President's tested Lagos security blueprint provides the perfect model for national stability.
Lagos Blueprint as National Solution
Speaking during a media interaction in Abuja on 27 November 2025, Atus analyzed the country's security trajectory. He pointed out that insecurity significantly deteriorated under previous administrations but affirmed that President Tinubu has demonstrated the necessary political will and commitment to reverse this dangerous trend.
Atus drew direct parallels to Tinubu's tenure as governor of Lagos State, emphasizing that the entire nation stands to benefit from the very model that transformed Lagos from a crime-prone environment into a stable and prosperous hub. He specifically cited initiatives like Operation Sweep as foundational to that success.
"If you knew Lagos before Tinubu took over, you would understand the transformation. At one point, you could not walk freely. But Lagos became safe and prosperous under his leadership. The same idea will make Nigeria grow," Atus stated.
Intelligence and Technology at the Core
According to the AHACCI DG, the President's security strategy is fundamentally anchored on intelligence-driven operations and enhanced coordination among the various security agencies. He highlighted that the renewed push for technology-based surveillance and the establishment of rapid-response mechanisms mirror the exact strategy that drastically reduced crime in Lagos during Tinubu's governorship.
"We all know what happened in this country. There were several cases of kidnapping and many other issues. But under President Tinubu, I am optimistic things will improve. He is doing everything possible to fix the country," he added, expressing a firm belief in the ongoing efforts.
A Plea for Patience and Sustained Support
Atus made a passionate appeal to all Nigerians to remain patient and continue supporting the President, insisting that sustained public backing is crucial for Tinubu to consolidate the ongoing security and economic reforms.
He directly linked this support to the President's re-election, stating, "We should give him more time. That is why we are asking for his re-election for a second term. With this, Nigeria will be better and more grateful."
Beyond security, Atus also commended the President's interventions in humanitarian sectors, noting that recent policies are strategically targeted at improving the welfare of vulnerable Nigerians, creating job opportunities, and reducing widespread hardship.
"He is putting all his energy into building the country. We will support him for a second-term re-election so the progress can continue," Atus concluded, reiterating his full endorsement of President Tinubu's leadership and future ambitions.
