Aluo Reflects on Positives as NNL Super Four Draw Holds

The Nigerian National League (NNL) has continued to receive widespread acclaim from followers of the country's football, who regard the second-tier league as the most vital competition in the club football ecosystem. This recognition stems from the numerous changes implemented by the league's management, enabling NNL clubs to compete effectively against Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) sides in the President Federation Cup.

Aluo Expresses Delight at Progress

George Aluo, Chairman of the NNL and an executive committee member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), expressed joy at the significant strides made in less than four years. He stated, "This is not about blowing one's own trumpet, but I am happy that we are making enormous progress." Aluo highlighted the upcoming draw ceremony for the season-ending tournament as a historic first, noting, "This is the first time we are having an elaborate ceremony for the draw of our season-ending tournament. It never happened even while it was Super Eight."

Sponsorship and Private Club Dominance

Aluo thanked sponsors Toptier Sports Management for their support, assuring them that the NNL will continue to deliver positive and far-reaching exposure. He also expressed excitement about the prospect of private-owned clubs dominating the top tier, as all promoted clubs from the NNL this year—Doma United, Sporting Lagos, Rancher Bees, and Inter Lagos—are privately owned. These four clubs will compete in the Super Four Tournament, scheduled from May 1 to 8 at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
