Paige Greco, a para-cyclist who had cerebral palsy, was at the peak of her career. She shot to global fame at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, where she secured a gold medal in the women’s C1–3 3,000m individual pursuit. Her success in Tokyo didn't stop there; she also clinched two bronze medals in time trial events.

Her prowess on the track was further proven through multiple victories at World Championships and World Cup events. Demonstrating her enduring talent, Greco won a bronze medal at the Para-Cycling Road World Championship in Belgium as recently as August of this year.

The heartbreaking news was confirmed by AusCycling on Monday, November 17, 2025. The organization shared an emotional statement from Greco's mother, Natalie. She expressed the family's profound loss, writing, "Paige meant everything to us. Her kindness, her dedication and her warmth touched our family every single day."

She added that while the family is devastated, they are incredibly proud of the person Paige was and how she represented Australia. The statement highlighted how Paige cherished the connections she made through her sport.

Cameron Murray, the Chief Executive of Paralympics Australia, paid tribute to Greco, calling her an "extraordinary athlete, but more importantly, a remarkable person." He praised her commitment, composure, and the kindness she showed to everyone around her.

Echoing these sentiments, Marne Fechner, CEO of AusCycling, said the organization was heartbroken. "Paige was an extraordinary athlete who achieved outstanding accomplishments... Much more than that, she touched the lives of everyone around her with her positive spirit and courageous outlook," Fechner stated.
