The 2026 O'jez Ladder Table Tennis tournament concluded over the weekend at the Lagos Country Club, with 78-year-old Bode Adekusibe emerging victorious in the super veterans' category. The week-long round-robin event was exclusively for members of the Ikeja Country Club in Lagos.
Thrilling Final Match
The final game between Henry Obaro and Abiodun Agoro captivated spectators with a display of high-level competition. Representing League One, Obaro fell to Agoro from League Two in the first set. However, Obaro staged a remarkable comeback in the second set, rallying from nine points down to level the score and win. Agoro took the third set, but Obaro responded by tying the match at 3-3 before forcing Agoro into a corner to claim the final set. Agoro appeared fatigued from his earlier League Two match against Afolabi Toriola, which took place about an hour before the final clash.
Other Category Winners
In addition to Adekusibe's victory, Bolaji Odugbesan won the ladies' category, Olufemi George claimed the veterans' category, Agoro secured the League Two title, and Obaro won League One.
