Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to supporting the development of information communication technology (ICT) in the state and across Nigeria. He made this known during the commissioning of the Sunday Nnaemeka Memorial Tech Foundation, held at Oroma Etiti Anam in Anambra West Local Government Area (LGA).
Tech Foundation as a Platform for Youth Innovation
The governor described the foundation as a vital platform for youth development and innovation. He emphasized that the state government places a high value on technology, noting that it remains one of the most viable and fast-growing sectors globally. Speaking through his Adviser on Innovation and Business Incubation, Miss Chinwe Okoli, Soludo urged parents across Anambra West LGA to take advantage of the initiative by enrolling their children. He called the foundation a rare opportunity capable of equipping young people with relevant digital skills for future success.
Commendation for the Founder
The governor commended Sir Nnaemeka, an ICT expert, for his visionary contribution to youth empowerment in the area. In his remarks, Hon. Peter Udogalaya Aniekwe, the Member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, expressed appreciation to Sir Nnaemeka for creating opportunities for young people to thrive in the digital economy. Aniekwe reiterated his commitment to improving infrastructure in the constituency, noting that inadequate social amenities remain a major challenge. He assured constituents of ongoing efforts to drive meaningful development across Anambra East and West.
Former Lawmaker's Perspective
Also speaking, former executive of Anambra West Local Government and former House of Representatives member for Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Hon. Raphael Udenze Okeke, described the Tech Foundation as a project that could transform the lives of many young people in Anambra West if they enroll. Chief Okeke advised parents to play a prominent role in helping their children choose the right courses in the university, noting that the world is fast shifting from analog to digital.
Education Stakeholder's Support
In the same vein, the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Chairman in Anambra State, Comrade Mrs. Chika Chukwudozie, commended Sir Anthony Nnaemeka for the project, describing it as immortalizing the name of his late elder brother, Sunday Nnaemeka. She prayed for God's continued blessings and protection upon Sir Anthony Nnaemeka.
