Memecore Hosts Abuja 5km Run, Boosts Web3 Adoption in Nigeria
Memecore Abuja Run Promotes Web3 and Fitness

The Memecore community successfully organized a major 5-kilometer run and engagement event in the heart of Abuja on Saturday, November 22, 2025. The gathering, dubbed the Meme-a-Thon, was designed to promote physical wellness, foster community bonds, and raise significant awareness for the Memecore Layer 1 protocol.

A Day of Fitness and Community Spirit

The event witnessed a large turnout of participants, who registered upon arrival and received branded merchandise. The run itself was a vibrant spectacle, featuring several mascots that jogged alongside the runners, capturing the attention of spectators as the activities kicked off.

Following the 5km run, the atmosphere remained energetic as attendees participated in group games. Event coordinator Nduka Anthony Annaelechukwu introduced fun challenges, including a bottle-flip contest and a colour-jumping game. To keep everyone refreshed, the organizers served small chops and branded bottled water.

Prizes, Protocols, and Partnerships

The host, Edire Gerald, expertly moderated the day's activities and coordinated the prize presentations. Winners of the various games were rewarded with gift items and cash awards, adding an extra layer of excitement.

A core objective of the event was to drive Web3 adoption. Memecore used the platform to introduce its blockchain technology to attendees. Organizers reported that many participants downloaded the MECO wallet on the spot and received detailed briefings on the project's features and its planned ecosystem development.

The success of the Meme-a-Thon was bolstered by support from several partner groups, including:

  • University of Abuja community
  • Ethereum Abuja
  • Tha Outsida Hikers
  • Nippon Grand Gym
  • Women Techmakers Gwarinpa

Dedicated volunteers and security personnel were also on hand to manage logistics and ensure crowd safety throughout the event.

Looking Ahead to Future Editions

In their closing remarks, the organizers expressed profound gratitude. They stated, "Your collaboration helped transform this event into a massive success. Special thanks also to our volunteers and the law enforcement agencies who supported logistics, safety, and coordination. Finally, a huge thank you to Memecore for sponsoring and believing in this vision."

They emphasized that the Memecore Meme-a-Thon Abuja 2025 was more than just an event; it was a celebration of community, creativity, wellness, and Web3 culture. The organizers confirmed that the Abuja gathering is part of a broader initiative to strengthen participation in the Memecore community and expand awareness for its Web3 projects. They are already anticipating and planning for the next edition of the run.
