Cardtonic has opened applications for Upskill 4.0, offering 25 brand-new M5 MacBook Pros and 20 fully funded tech scholarships with ₦250,000 cash support to young Nigerians and Ghanaians under 30. The application window runs from July 28 to August 28, 2026.

Programme Details and Tracks

The initiative, called Upskill with Cardtonic 4.0, is split into two tracks: the MacBook Track and the Scholarship Track. The MacBook Track is for applicants with some experience in their chosen field, while the Scholarship Track targets beginners.

According to Cardtonic, 25 selected tech talents will receive M5 MacBook Pros, and 20 beginners will get fully funded tech diploma scholarships through AltSchool Africa, each with ₦250,000 cash support.

Eligibility and Application Process

Applicants must be under 30 years old and be Nigerian or Ghanaian citizens. For the MacBook Track, they need a proven record of interest or a relevant portfolio. The MacBook Track covers six categories: Content Creation, Product Design, Software Engineering, Data Science & AI Engineering, Product Management, and Cyber Security.

Beginners can apply for the Scholarship Track in Software Engineering, Cyber Security, Data Science, or Product Management. Cardtonic said the programme is designed to help young people “learn new skills, accelerate their careers, and reach their full potential.”

Key Dates and Next Steps

Applications close on August 28, 2026. Reviews will occur between August 31 and September 3, followed by screening updates, assessments, interviews, and winner announcements. Winners are expected to be announced between October 1 and 2, 2026, with a prize-giving event scheduled for October 10, 2026.
