The biggest tech party in Lagos held on 17th July 2026 brought together innovators, investors, and tech enthusiasts for a day of networking and innovation. Organized by TechConnect Africa, the event took place at the Landmark Event Centre and featured over 2,000 participants from 15 countries, making it the largest tech gathering in Lagos this year.
Keynote Highlights
The event kicked off with a keynote by Dr. Amina Bello, CEO of Innovate Nigeria, who addressed the role of technology in driving inclusive growth. “Nigeria’s tech sector is poised to contribute over 20% to the GDP by 2030 if we maintain this momentum,” she said. Other speakers included the Lagos State Commissioner for Innovation, who announced a new tech hub initiative, and representatives from global firms like Google and Flutterwave.
Networking and Collaborations
Attendees participated in structured networking sessions that led to over 200 business partnerships being formed. A dedicated startup alley featured 50 exhibitors showcasing solutions in fintech, healthtech, and agritech. According to the event organizer, Tunde Ogunlesi, “This is not just a party; it’s a catalyst for the next wave of Nigerian innovation.”
Product Launches
Three major products were unveiled at the event. PaySwift, a new payment gateway, announced it had processed over ₦1 billion in transactions during its beta phase. Another launch was AfriLearn, an e-learning platform targeting tertiary institutions, which reported 10,000 pre-registrations. The third was a solar-powered IoT device for smart agriculture, developed by a team of Lagos-based engineers.
Impact on Nigeria's Tech Ecosystem
The event also served as a platform for policy discussions. A panel on digital infrastructure highlighted that Nigeria’s internet penetration has reached 55%, up from 45% in 2024. Venture capitalists in attendance committed over $5 million in seed funding to startups met at the event. The Lagos State Government announced a partnership with TechConnect to host a follow-up hackathon in October 2026.
