Air Peace Moves West Africa Flights to Daytime from February 2026
Air Peace Ends Night Flights Across West Africa

In a significant move set to reshape regional air travel, Nigeria's leading carrier, Air Peace, has announced it will transition the majority of its West African operations from night-time to daytime schedules. This major operational shift is scheduled to commence on February 2, 2026.

Why Air Peace is Embracing Daylight Operations

The airline communicated this decision directly to its passengers, framing it as a strategic step to dramatically improve the travel experience. According to Air Peace, late-night departures and arrivals on regional routes have long presented challenges for travellers.

These include limited airport services during off-peak hours, increased passenger fatigue, and difficult connections to other flights. By moving operations to daylight hours, the airline aims to reduce travel stress, enhance punctuality, and better align its regional network with domestic and long-haul connections, particularly from its primary hub in Lagos.

The New Daytime Flight Schedule Unveiled

The revised schedule introduces a structured, daylight-focused programme for key West African routes. A major circuit connecting Lagos, Abidjan, Dakar, and Banjul will operate every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Flights will depart Lagos in the early morning, ensuring arrivals in connecting cities during the day and a return to Lagos by evening.

Furthermore, on Thursdays and Saturdays, Air Peace will run a second circuit linking Lagos to Accra, Monrovia (Roberts International Airport), and Freetown. These flights will also adhere to the daylight model, returning to base before nightfall.

Importantly, the popular Lagos-Accra route will maintain its daily frequency, supplemented by additional evening services on select days to offer flexibility while largely adhering to the new daytime philosophy.

Implications for Passengers and Regional Connectivity

This transition is expected to yield substantial benefits for both leisure and business travellers. Passengers can look forward to less exhausting journeys, more predictable arrival times, and full access to airport amenities like transportation, banking, and immigration upon landing.

For the West African region, the change strengthens economic and institutional links. The schedule now better supports same-day business meetings, smoother diplomatic travel, and easier connections for development partners across West and Central Africa.

By prioritising reliability and passenger comfort through practical scheduling, Air Peace reinforces its position as a pivotal regional carrier dedicated to fostering stronger ties within the sub-region.

In related news, Air Peace has also confirmed the resumption of daily commercial flights between Ibadan and Abuja, starting December 24, 2025. This restart follows the reopening of Ibadan Airport and aims to serve the travel needs of passengers in Oyo State and surrounding areas requiring access to the Federal Capital Territory.
