Air Peace has unveiled plans to expand its domestic and regional operations by increasing flight frequencies on key Nigerian routes while introducing new services to four African cities. The airline said the expansion was part of its strategy to strengthen connectivity, stimulate trade and position Lagos as a leading aviation hub in West and Central Africa.
Expansion Details
A statement released by the airline's spokesman, Efe Osifo-Whiskey, indicated that the expansion would commence between June and August 2026. This move demonstrates the carrier's commitment to meeting growing passenger demand and enhancing travel options for business and leisure travellers across its network.
Domestic Schedule Enhancements
Under its revised Summer 2026 schedule, effective June 22, Air Peace will deploy additional capacity on several high-demand domestic routes. The enhanced domestic schedule includes:
- Up to seven daily flights between Lagos and Abuja
- Four daily flights on the Lagos-Owerri route
- Three daily services between Lagos and Asaba
- Two daily flights each on the Lagos-Benin, Lagos-Warri, Lagos-Enugu, Abuja-Owerri and Abuja-Asaba routes
These increased frequencies are designed to provide passengers with greater flexibility, improved connectivity and more convenient travel schedules while boosting seat capacity across its domestic network.
New Regional Routes
Air Peace also revealed plans for new regional services connecting Lagos with Douala and Libreville in Central Africa, as well as Bamako and Conakry in West Africa. The new international routes are scheduled to commence on August 1, 2026.
The Lagos-Douala-Libreville-Douala-Lagos service will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The Lagos-Bamako-Conakry-Bamako-Lagos route will operate three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The airline stated that the introduction of these new destinations marks another milestone in its network growth strategy and aligns with its vision of promoting seamless air connectivity across the African continent.
Connectivity and Economic Impact
With the additional regional services, passengers from Cameroon, Gabon, Mali and Guinea will gain access to Air Peace's extensive domestic network through its Lagos hub. This enables onward connections to cities such as Abuja, Port Harcourt, Benin, Enugu, Owerri, Kano, Asaba, Gombe, Ibadan, Yola and Maiduguri, among others.
The airline noted that the new routes will also provide easier access to its growing international network, including services to London Gatwick and Caribbean destinations such as Antigua and Barbados.
The development is expected to support the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM), both of which seek to remove barriers to air travel and trade across Africa.
Air Peace urged passengers, corporate organisations and travel agencies to take advantage of the expanded network, competitive fares and seamless connectivity available across its domestic, regional and international operations.
