France Announces New Visa Fee Structure for Five Categories
France has officially published the fees for five visa types, including Schengen, long-stay, airport transit, adopted child and short-stay visas. The new fee schedule, available on the official French visa website, also introduces reduced charges for children aged 6 to 12 on selected visas. Certain applicants, such as family members of French nationals or spouses of French citizens, may be exempt from paying visa fees altogether, depending on their circumstances.
France Schengen Visa Fee
The Schengen visa permits foreign nationals from non-Schengen countries to enter France and other Schengen states for short stays. The standard fee is set at 90 euros (approximately N141,813). Children aged 6 to 12 benefit from a reduced rate of 45 euros (about N70,906).
France Long-Stay Visa Fee
The long-stay visa allows travellers to remain in France for an extended period, typically for study, work or residency. The fee is 99 euros (roughly N155,994), with a reduced rate of 50 euros (about N78,785) for eligible applicants.
France Airport Transit Visa Fee
The airport transit visa is required for travellers passing through a French airport en route to another country. The standard fee is 90 euros (N141,813), with a reduced rate of 45 euros (N70,906) for children aged 6 to 12.
France Adopted Child Visa Fee
The adopted child visa is designed for children legally adopted abroad who wish to enter France and live with their adoptive parents. The fee is notably lower at 15 euros (approximately N23,635).
France Short-Stay Visa Fee
The short-stay visa covers tourism, business or family visits for a limited period. The fee varies depending on the French territory being visited. For territories such as Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique, Réunion, Saint Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, the fee is 60 euros (N94,542), with a reduced rate of 35 euros (N55,149) for children aged 6 to 12. For other territories including New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Wallis and Futuna, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Mayotte, and French Southern and Antarctic Lands, the fee is only 9 euros (N14,181).
