Hong Kong has officially released the names of African countries whose citizens are eligible for visa-free entry in 2026, with varying stay periods depending on the country. The policy allows eligible travelers to visit, stay, and live in Hong Kong for a specified duration without obtaining a visa.

Eligible African Countries and Stay Periods

According to the official Hong Kong government website, the visa-free entry privileges are categorized by length of stay. Citizens of some African countries can remain in Hong Kong for up to three months, while others are limited to one month or 14 days.

Three-Month Stay

The following African countries are eligible for a visa-free stay of up to three months: Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Seychelles, Eswatini (Swaziland), Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

One-Month Stay

Citizens of Cape Verde, Morocco, South Africa, Tunisia, and Uganda can stay for up to one month without a visa.

14-Day Stay

A larger group of African countries is eligible for a 14-day visa-free stay: Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Niger, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Togo.
