Liberia Publishes 7 Steps for Online Visa on Arrival Application
Liberia: 7 Steps for Online Visa on Arrival Application

Liberia has published a seven-step guide for foreigners to apply online for a visa on arrival, emphasizing that the application fee is non-refundable. The process, detailed on the official Liberian government immigration portal, includes account creation, document upload, form filling, payment, and collection of a QR code or PDF for airport presentation.

Step 1: Account Creation

Applicants must first create a profile on the immigration portal by providing necessary details, including an email address. A confirmation email is sent to proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Documentation

Required documents include a passport, a portrait photograph, and a flight ticket. Copies must be scanned and uploaded, with each file not exceeding 2 MB.

Step 3: Form Filling

After uploading documents, applicants fill out the online visa on arrival application form with required details.

Step 4: Payment of Fee

The visa on arrival application fee is USD 102.5 (approximately N141,430). The portal states: "The Visa on Arrival fee (USD 102.5) is non-refundable." Applicants must ensure all information is correct before payment.

Step 5: Notification of Application

After payment, applicants receive a payment notification and an email with the payment receipt. Patience is advised as confirmation may take time.

Step 6: Confirmation Email

Once the application is approved, a second email is sent containing a PDF attachment or QR code. This must be presented at the airport upon arrival in Liberia, either printed or displayed on a mobile phone.

Step 7: Collection of Visa Sticker

At the airport, after presenting the QR code or document, an immigration officer conducts biometric registration and issues a visa sticker placed in the passport.

The Liberian government advises foreigners who have a Liberian embassy in their country to apply either at the embassy or online. This guide provides a clear pathway for travellers seeking entry into Liberia.
