NCAT Explores Chinese Companies for Aviation Training Boost

The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) in Zaria is forging strategic partnerships with several Chinese companies to elevate the quality of training for its students. This initiative aims to bring cutting-edge aviation technology and expertise to Nigeria.

Partnerships with Chinese Firms

Among the companies collaborating with NCAT are China Sky-Wings International Education Technology Co., Ltd, CETC Nanjing Information Technology Co. Ltd, and the Green Aerotechnics Research Institute of CQJTU. According to a statement by Dr Jude Amadi, Director of Information and Public Relations at NCAT, the college's Rector, Dr Danjuma Ismaila, led a delegation to China to solidify these partnerships.

China Sky-Wings specializes in aviation training, flight simulation, pilot development, and aviation technology education. CETC Nanjing focuses on Air Traffic Management (ATM), while the Green Aerotechnics Research Institute is known for developing the Boeing T1400 Electric Drone technology, among other innovations.

Rector's Vision for Technological Advancement

Dr Ismaila emphasized that NCAT is seeking opportunities for training collaborations with major aviation training centers in China. He stressed the importance of technological innovation, software and simulator upgrades to enhance operational efficiency, noting that Nigeria cannot afford to be left behind in these advancements. He further highlighted that the partnerships would be mutually beneficial for all parties involved.

China Sky-Wings, for instance, has training facilities in several Chinese cities and collaborates with international aviation organizations and simulator companies.

The delegation also included Dr Muhammad Muhammad, Technical Adviser to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development; Umar Bello, Personal Assistant to the Rector; and Aminu Dan-Musa, a senior NCAT official, among others.
