UAE Announces Conditions for Virtual Work Residence Visa
The United Arab Emirates has officially released the requirements for its Virtual Work Residence Visa, including a minimum monthly income of USD 3,500 (approximately N4,843,790) and a permit fee of AED 200 (about N75,413). The visa is valid for one year and is designed for remote workers who wish to reside in the UAE while employed outside the country.
Seven Requirements for Eligibility
According to the UAE’s official website, applicants must meet seven specific requirements to be granted the visa. These include a coloured personal photograph, a copy of the passport, a copy of health insurance, proof of a medical fitness test, proof of remote work outside the UAE, a salary certificate, and an Emirates ID receipt.
The UAE government emphasized that applicants must provide evidence of remote work and meet the minimum salary threshold. The residence permit fee is set at AED 200, which covers the processing of the visa.
Visa Validity and Application Process
The Virtual Work Residence Visa allows successful applicants to live in the UAE for one year. The application process requires submission of all listed documents, along with proof of income and remote employment. The UAE has not specified a processing time, but applicants are advised to ensure all documents are valid and up-to-date.
Maldives Visa-on-Arrival for African Countries
In related news, the Maldives has published an official list of five African countries whose citizens are eligible for its visa-on-arrival programme. Eligible travellers from Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Egypt, and Morocco can stay in the Maldives for up to 30 days, provided they meet entry requirements.
