United Nigeria Airlines has officially accepted the public apologies issued by social media influencers Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, and Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, widely recognized as Mr Jollof, following a disruptive mid-air confrontation aboard one of its aircraft.

The altercation occurred during the boarding process of Flight UN0523 from Asaba International Airport to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on 17 November 2025. The situation prompted immediate attention from the airline's crew and later from aviation security personnel.
In a formal statement released by the airline's Public Relations Officer, Chibuike Uloka, United Nigeria Airlines confirmed it has acknowledged and accepted the apologies made by both personalities through their social media channels. The statement highlighted that both individuals have publicly committed to refraining from any future conduct that could breach aviation regulations or compromise passenger safety and order.

The carrier's official communication read: "We take note of their commitments expressed via their respective social media platforms to refrain from any conduct that could compromise aviation safety, order, or decorum onboard United Nigeria Airlines flights or any other airline. We trust that this undertaking will be honored in the interest of maintaining a safe, respectful, and orderly travel environment for all passengers."
United Nigeria Airlines also used the opportunity to commend the swift response of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Airport Security (AVSEC), other aviation agencies, and its own crew members. The airline emphasized that the situation was managed professionally and in strict accordance with established safety protocols.

Furthermore, the airline reaffirmed its alignment with the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) and regulatory bodies in ongoing efforts to curb unruly passenger behavior across Nigeria's aviation sector.
