Vale Records 10,000% Growth, Customer Transactions Near ₦1 Trillion

Vale, a Nigerian fintech company, has reported a 10,000% growth in transaction volume, with customer transactions approaching ₦1 trillion, according to its 2025 annual report. The company disclosed that total transaction value reached ₦998 billion, driven by a surge in merchant payments and peer-to-peer transfers.

Transaction Value and User Growth

The report, released on August 20, 2026, showed that Vale processed over 200 million transactions in 2025, up from 2 million in 2024. The company attributed this growth to increased adoption of its payment platform by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and individual users. Vale's active user base grew by 150% to 12 million, according to the report.

“Our 10,000% growth reflects the trust Nigerians have placed in our platform for seamless transactions,” said Tunde Adeyemi, CEO of Vale, in a statement. “We are committed to expanding financial inclusion across the country.”

Revenue and Profitability

Vale's revenue surged by 8,500% to ₦45 billion in 2025, driven by transaction fees and value-added services. The company also reported its first full-year profit of ₦3.2 billion, compared to a loss of ₦200 million in 2024. The fintech firm attributed profitability to cost optimization and increased transaction volumes.

“Achieving profitability within two years of our launch is a significant milestone,” Adeyemi added. “We will continue to invest in technology to enhance user experience.”

Market Position and Competition

Vale now competes with established fintech players like Flutterwave and Paystack, which have also reported strong growth. However, Vale's transaction volume growth rate outpaces many competitors, according to industry analysts. The company plans to expand into lending and insurance services in 2027, as outlined in the report.

The report noted that Vale processed transactions for over 500,000 merchants, including 50,000 new businesses added in 2025. The company's payment infrastructure handled ₦500 billion in merchant payments alone, accounting for half of total transaction value.

Future Outlook and Regulatory Compliance

Vale expects transaction value to exceed ₦2 trillion in 2026, driven by new product launches and geographic expansion into West Africa. The company also plans to obtain a payment service bank license from the Central Bank of Nigeria by mid-2027, according to the report.

“Our next phase involves deepening our presence in rural areas and offering credit products to underserved communities,” Adeyemi said. Vale has raised $50 million in Series B funding to support these plans, as disclosed in the report. The company's growth trajectory underscores the rapid digitization of payments in Nigeria, where cashless transactions are gaining momentum.
