CEVA Logistics, a global leader in third-party logistics, and EFL Africa, a prominent logistics company in Nigeria, have announced the establishment of a joint venture named CEVA EFL Limited. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the expansion strategies of both companies, aiming to strengthen their foothold in key global markets.
Strategic Gateway to West Africa
Nigeria, being one of the largest and most dynamic logistics markets globally, serves as a strategic gateway to West Africa. The CEVA EFL joint venture enhances the combined position of both companies in Nigeria, reinforcing their roles within the West African logistics ecosystem. By merging EFL's strong local presence and operational excellence with CEVA's extensive global network and end-to-end logistics capabilities, the joint venture is poised to deliver integrated, customer-centric solutions.
Enhanced Capabilities for Customers
The joint venture offers a variety of consolidated and expedited services, including dedicated barge operations. Containers can be moved from Lagos ports to Inland Container Depots (ICDs) using barges, reducing reliance on road networks and shortening transit times. The comprehensive ICD infrastructure spans 140,000 square meters across two locations in Ikorodu and Apapa, which also includes an export processing terminal (EPT). Additionally, customs clearance services are provided by a licensed in-house team, ensuring efficient and reliable processing.
Value Creation and Knowledge Transfer
The partnership drives significant value for Nigeria by bringing a global logistics leader into the market, fostering knowledge transfer to local employees, and empowering EFL to accelerate its growth. Sylvain Kluba, Vice President of Finance IMEA at CEVA Logistics, stated: “This joint venture represents a bold step forward in our commitment to connecting Nigeria and West Africa to the world. By combining CEVA’s global reach with EFL’s local knowledge, we are uniquely positioned to deliver seamless solutions.” Yemi Adunola, CEO of EFL, added: “We are thrilled to partner with CEVA Logistics. This collaboration underscores our shared vision of transforming logistics in Nigeria and West Africa, creating value through efficient and integrated solutions.”
