CIPM Reaffirms Commitment to Advancing Professional Excellence

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing professional excellence and strengthening Human Resource (HR) capacity development. This commitment was announced by the Vice Chairperson of the Rivers State Branch of CIPM, Orieji Uduma, during the unveiling of plans for the institute's 27th annual state conference.

Conference Theme and Focus

The conference, themed 'Work, Workforce & Workplace: Driving Agile and Sustainable Organizations,' is designed to address changing workplace realities and strategies for building agile and sustainable organizations. It will be held as a hybrid event in Port Harcourt, bringing together HR professionals, business leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, administrators, and industry stakeholders.

The institute stated that the conference aims to provide a platform for examining emerging trends shaping the future of work while equipping organizations with strategies to remain resilient and competitive amid evolving economic and workplace demands.

Key Insights from Leadership

Speaking ahead of the conference, Uduma emphasized that the annual gathering would deepen knowledge-sharing, encourage strategic engagement, and foster practical conversations around workplace transformation. According to the institute, the conference seeks to provide professionals and business leaders with insights that will help organizations adapt to rapid shifts in workforce expectations, workplace culture, and operational sustainability.

The institute urged HR professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders to participate, noting that this year's edition has been structured to deliver greater impact and value than previous conferences.

Previous Edition Highlights

The organizers disclosed that over 240 HR professionals attended the previous edition, which featured key personalities including Adeyemi Ajayi, an elected council member of CIPM; Vice Chancellor of Rivers State University, Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi; immediate past Chairman of the Rivers State Branch, Godswill Eke; former Vice President of CIPM, Henry Unuakpor; and Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Patrick Ekadi, among others.

Event Details and Registration

The conference is expected to attract professionals across sectors to connect, share ideas, and contribute to discussions on the future of work and organizational sustainability. While the virtual sessions will be held on July 8 and 9, 2026, the physical conference is scheduled for July 10, 2026, at Celebra8 Centre, Olu Obasanjo Road, Port Harcourt.

The institute added that registration is ongoing, encouraging professionals, partners, and sponsors within the personnel and business management ecosystem to participate in this year's conference.
