Club Distributes Food to 30 Lagos Families in Outreach

A non-profit organisation, Bossmind Club, has distributed food items to 30 families in the Igbonla community of Ketu, Lagos, as part of its annual outreach aimed at supporting vulnerable households amid prevailing economic challenges. The initiative, held to mark the club’s anniversary, brought relief to residents facing rising food prices and limited income opportunities.

The group said the outreach was driven by a shared commitment among members to give back to society and make a tangible difference at the grassroots level. The club’s president, Blessing Ugboko, said the gesture reflects the organisation’s core values of compassion, responsibility and collective action. She noted that while the intervention may appear modest, it is intended to provide immediate support and encouragement to families in need.

Items distributed during the exercise included bags of rice, beans, garri, groundnut oil, semovita, sugar, spaghetti, salt and seasoning cubes, all considered essential household staples. Ugboko added that the outreach forms part of the club’s annual anniversary activities. She said the group remains committed to sustaining and expanding the initiative in subsequent years to reach more communities.

She urged beneficiaries to remain hopeful and resilient despite economic pressures, describing the support as a stepping stone rather than a permanent solution. According to her, perseverance and optimism are critical in navigating difficult times. The club also called on government at all levels to strengthen social support systems through sustained investment in welfare, education and empowerment programmes. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, describing the intervention as timely and impactful.
