Kolo Magazine Launches Nigerian Edition Targeting Business and Creative Sectors
Kolo Magazine Launches Nigerian Edition for Business and Creative Sectors

Kolo Magazine, a Pan-African publication, has launched its Nigerian edition, aiming to connect the country's entrepreneurs, executives, creatives, and emerging talents with audiences at home and abroad. The launch, announced via a press statement on Monday, expands the magazine's presence into one of Africa's most commercially and culturally significant markets, with a focus on business, entertainment, and lifestyle.

Launch Details and Editorial Focus

The Nigerian rollout follows months of planning, research, reporting, editing, and design by a local editorial team, according to the statement. The team will focus on stories reflecting Nigeria's entrepreneurial energy, cultural diversity, and growing creative economy while maintaining Kolo Magazine's broader Pan-African outlook. The publication aims to combine profiles, interviews, features, and visual storytelling to document people and ideas shaping contemporary Nigeria.

Kolo Magazine was founded by Publisher and CEO Marinus Atanga, whose vision, according to the statement, is to create a platform through which Africans can tell their stories with authenticity, depth, and pride. The publication has an international presence spanning countries including France, Cameroon, and the United States.

Inaugural Edition Features Key Personalities

The inaugural Nigerian edition features personalities whose careers cut across business, fashion, media, and the creative industries. They include Chioma Rosemary Onyekaba, president and CEO of BBF & Cromstar Group, and runway coach Smart Courage. Onyekaba, a writer and former Second Lady of Imo State, has built a career spanning printing, publishing, fashion, and media. According to the statement, she was recently recognized among Abuja's Top 100 CEOs for her leadership and contributions to business.

Courage, a fashion stylist and creative director, has trained more than 3,000 models and pageant contestants, the statement said. It described him as one of Nigeria's leading male runway coaches.

Broader Economic and Social Themes

Beyond profiles of prominent personalities, Kolo Magazine Nigeria plans to examine issues with broader economic and social implications, including sustainable development, youth empowerment, women's leadership, and opportunities arising from the African Continental Free Trade Area, according to the statement. The publication also plans to provide advertising, brand storytelling, partnership, and institutional collaboration opportunities for businesses and organizations.

According to the statement, its target audience includes decision-makers, entrepreneurs, investors, executives, professionals, and culturally engaged consumers. The Nigerian edition will be available in print and digital formats, with multimedia reports and social media content intended to extend its reach beyond the traditional magazine audience.

Expansion and Commitment to African Storytelling

The publication is headquartered in Lagos and plans to expand its coverage of developments across Nigeria. For Atanga, the Nigerian launch forms part of a wider effort to strengthen African storytelling and connect the continent with its global diaspora. “Nigeria remains one of Africa’s most dynamic markets, rich in talent, innovation and culture,” Atanga said in the statement. “Our presence here represents more than an expansion, it is a commitment to telling the stories that matter, celebrating African excellence, and connecting people, businesses and ideas across borders.”

“This inaugural issue is more than a magazine launch,” he added. “It is a statement of belief in Nigeria’s talent, Africa’s potential and the power of storytelling to shape perceptions, inspire action and create opportunity.” Kolo Magazine Nigeria is available through www.kolomag.com, while additional content and updates will be distributed through its social media platforms. The publication said it intends to build a growing audience around stories of African enterprise, creativity, leadership, and opportunity.
