LG unveils inverter refrigerators to boost energy efficiency in Nigerian homes
LG launches inverter fridges for energy savings in Nigeria

LG Electronics has reinforced its commitment to energy-efficient living in Nigeria with the introduction of advanced inverter-powered refrigerator solutions tailored to meet the changing needs of households amid rising electricity costs and inflationary pressures.

Energy Savings and Performance

The company said its range of refrigerators is designed to help consumers manage energy consumption more effectively while maintaining reliable cooling performance and food preservation. According to the company, refrigerators remain one of the most heavily used appliances in homes, operating round the clock and contributing significantly to household electricity consumption. To address this, LG said its proprietary Inverter Compressor technology intelligently adjusts cooling power based on usage conditions, reducing unnecessary energy draw and improving efficiency.

The firm noted that the technology delivers stable temperature control while helping households lower electricity costs and improve energy management.

Food Preservation and Durability

Beyond energy savings, LG stated that its refrigerators are built to support food preservation and reduce waste, particularly as rising food prices continue to affect many families. The company explained that the inverter system enables faster cooling recovery after power outages and maintains consistent internal temperatures to preserve freshness for longer periods. LG added that the reduced friction design in its compressors enhances durability and long-term reliability while lowering maintenance requirements over time.

Product Range

The company’s refrigerator lineup includes Top Mount, Side-by-Side and Door-in-Door models targeted at different household sizes and lifestyle needs. Among the featured products is the LG GN-F452PFAQ, which the company said is equipped with FRESH Converter+ technology for temperature optimisation and an Auto Ice Maker feature for continuous ice production. LG said its Side-by-Side refrigerators are designed for households requiring larger storage capacity and improved organisation, offering wider interior space and consistent cooling across compartments.

For consumers seeking premium aesthetics and convenience, the company highlighted its Door-in-Door refrigerators, which minimise cold air loss by allowing quick access to frequently used items. At the premium end of the portfolio, LG showcased the LG MoodUP Refrigerator, featuring customisable aesthetics and the InstaView panel technology that allows users to see contents without opening the refrigerator door, thereby reducing cold air loss and improving energy efficiency.

Executive Comment

Speaking on the development, General Manager, Home Appliance Solutions, LG Electronics Nigeria, Oktai Kim, said Nigerian consumers are becoming increasingly deliberate about energy usage and household spending. He said the company’s diverse inverter-powered refrigerator range provides families with options that align with their home needs while delivering long-term value through energy efficiency and dependable performance. LG maintained that its refrigerator portfolio focuses on practical everyday benefits, including efficient operation, reliable cooling and adaptable designs suited to local living conditions.
