Maltina Commemorates Five Decades with Ambitious Student Nutrition Initiative
In celebration of its 50th anniversary in Nigeria, Maltina, the prominent malt beverage brand under Nigerian Breweries Plc, has officially launched a comprehensive nationwide Nourishment Tour. This significant initiative aims to directly nourish and educate one million young students across the country, reinforcing the brand's long-standing commitment to fostering health and learning.
Tour Phases and Educational Focus
The first phase of this ambitious tour commenced on February 9, 2026, starting with selected schools in Lagos State. The program has now expanded into its second phase, which began on March 9, 2026. This phase includes visits to several institutions such as Government Comprehensive Junior College in Agege, Ikeja Senior Grammar School in Oshodi, Surulere Junior Secondary School, and United Missionary Comprehensive College in Molete, Ibadan.
The tour is strategically designed to highlight the critical connection between proper nutrition and academic performance. Through interactive, hands-on science experiments facilitated in collaboration with STEM Africa Fest, students are shown how essential nutrients from foods and beverages support physical growth, creative thinking, and sustained energy levels necessary for daily learning activities.
Brand Ambassador and Community Engagement
Adding a personal touch to the campaign, Maltina has partnered with its brand ambassador, the well-known media personality Oluwabukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly called Kiekie. The tour notably included a visit to her alma mater, United Missionary Comprehensive College in Ibadan, where she engaged with students to promote healthy nutritional habits.
During the school visits, participating students receive bottles of Maltina, now available in convenient 25cl and 50cl PET bottle sizes designed for easy portability in school bags. The experiments specifically demonstrate how vitamins and minerals, including Vitamins A, B, C, and Calcium found in Maltina, are metabolized by the body to fuel cognitive functions and physical development.
