Asa Asika, the manager of Nigerian music star Davido, has ignited conversations online after expressing frustration over how quickly his mobile data gets exhausted, despite spending most of his time in locations with WiFi access.
Asa Asika's Complaint
In a post shared on X, Asika revealed that although he had spent less than two weeks in Lagos over the past month and mostly stayed at home or in the office, he had still purchased 10GB of data multiple times. He lamented that his calls often disconnect immediately after stepping outside because his data suddenly runs out.
Public Reactions
His post triggered a wave of reactions from Nigerians. Some noted that public figures like Asika should have spoken up earlier, as many Nigerians have long been complaining about telecom providers and rising data costs. Another user remarked that the amount spent on data within a few months could almost be enough to purchase land in a small city.
This incident highlights the ongoing concerns about data pricing and consumption in Nigeria, where many users feel that data plans are inadequate and costly.
