Bichi, who represents Bichi Federal Constituency and chairs the House Committee on Appropriation, stated that the project, included in the 2025 budget, underscores the administration's commitment to infrastructure development.
Projected Benefits of the Rail System
According to the lawmaker, the proposed rail system is anticipated to enhance connectivity across Kano, streamline movement within the metropolis, and strengthen the state's position as a commercial hub in northern Nigeria. He emphasized that efficient transportation systems are vital for economic activity, noting that modern rail networks have proven their effectiveness in major cities worldwide. “The railway will facilitate trade, create opportunities, and stimulate economic activities across the state,” he said.
