King's Trust International has announced the appointment of prominent Nigerian business leader Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede and his wife Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede as the new co-chairs of its Africa Advisory Board. This leadership transition marks a significant step in the organization's mission to empower young Africans across the continent.
New Leadership for African Youth Development
The power couple takes over from founding co-chairs Bernard and Genevieve Mensah, who provided six years of distinguished service in establishing and growing KTI's presence across Africa. The appointment signals a strategic evolution in how the organization will approach youth development programs throughout the continent.
Established to leverage African expertise and influence, the Africa Advisory Board plays a critical role in guiding KTI's programmatic growth. The board focuses on strengthening networks, mobilizing resources, and shaping initiatives specifically designed to address the unique challenges facing African youth today.
Addressing Africa's Youth Opportunity Challenge
Africa boasts the world's youngest population, with over 60% under the age of 25. While this demographic presents enormous potential for economic and social progress, youth unemployment and underemployment remain critical challenges, particularly in fragile and underserved communities.
Under the new leadership of the Aig-Imoukhuedes, the Board will concentrate on scaling innovative, high-impact programmes that help young people gain relevant skills, find employment, or establish their own businesses. KTI has already supported over 30,000 young people across nine African countries, achieving an impressive 83% success rate in participants securing employment or returning to education.

Aigboje and Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede bring extensive experience in financial services, governance reform, and philanthropy to their new roles. They are known for their distinctive approach to building public-private-philanthropic partnerships that create lasting change.
