The Global Entrepreneurship Festival 2025 is establishing unprecedented standards for women's leadership worldwide, placing female innovators at the heart of global power structures, policy-making, and technological advancement.
Women Taking Center Stage in Global Leadership
Scheduled for November 21-23, GEF 2025 will bring together an influential group of women who are redefining leadership across continents. Among the distinguished participants are Vice President of Ghana Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, former African Union Commission Chairperson Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, and United Africa Group Windhoek Chairperson Dr. Martha Namundjebo-Tilahu.
The festival's strategic emphasis on Women in Power aims to highlight how women are creating significant impact in governance, business enterprises, and the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence.
International Women's Congress as Strategic Hub
Positioned as the core element of the festival, the International Women's Congress will serve as a high-level gathering for women who are shaping tomorrow through innovation, governance, and values-based leadership.
Dr. Joy Francis, Director of Partnerships for GEF, emphasized the importance of the Congress, stating that the event brings together women who are "quietly and boldly reshaping the future of leadership, technology, policy, and sustainability." She noted that these leaders "lead with heart, build with intention, and rise with a resilience that lights the way for others."
AI and Entrepreneurship Movement Gain Momentum
This year's festival identifies artificial intelligence as the driving force for creating a more inclusive and future-ready entrepreneurial environment. Under the theme "The AI-Powered Entrepreneur: Creating a Sustainable Planet," GEF 2025 expects to mobilize over 10,000 global leaders, innovators, investors, startups, creatives, and policymakers from more than 70 countries, with an additional virtual audience exceeding 10 million people.
The excitement building up to GEF 2025 became visible through the Entrepreneurs' March, which demonstrated remarkable unity and ambition. Thousands of entrepreneurs and innovators filled the streets of Accra at dawn, showcasing Africa's growing influence in global entrepreneurship.
Participants wearing GEF-branded shirts waved national flags and carried placards declaring "This is not a protest. It is a movement—an entrepreneurship movement." This powerful demonstration highlighted collective priorities including prosperity, job creation, sustainability, digital transformation, and youth empowerment.
As President H.E. John Dramani Mahama prepares to host the festival from November 21–23, Ghana's emergence as a regional innovation hub is attracting worldwide attention. GEF 2025 will feature 12 concurrent events specifically designed to promote economic inclusion, accelerate digital capabilities, and advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The International Women's Congress continues to serve as the strategic foundation, reaffirming that women play an essential role in building resilient economies and sustainable futures for generations to come.
