This call to action was made at the International Women’s Day conference organized by Accion Microfinance Bank, in collaboration with GirlLearn Africa, themed 'Driving Women’s Digital and Financial Empowerment', which was held in Lagos.

Managing Director and CEO of Accion Microfinance Bank, Taiwo Joda, spoke on 'Driving Impact Through Visionary Leadership', stressing the critical importance of collaboration and intentional leadership in achieving sustainable growth. He stated, “True leadership is not a one-man effort; it is driven by collective contribution across teams and genders. Empowering others, sharing knowledge, and building capable teams are critical to sustaining growth and creating long-term value.” Joda highlighted the need for women in leadership roles to create enabling environments that encourage knowledge-sharing and initiative, noting that such efforts are essential for long-term impact.

Founder of The SalesVilleAfrica, Treasure Ernest, urged participants to embrace continuous learning and apply their knowledge to unlock new opportunities. She emphasized, “The capacity to grow and succeed already exists within you. The key is to feed your mind with the right knowledge and take action.
