The Canada-Africa Chamber of Business is set to hold its sixth Canada-Africa Business Conference in Lagos from June 24 to 25, aiming to strengthen economic ties and accelerate trade and investment opportunities between Canada and Nigeria. The event will convene senior decision-makers from both countries to explore new avenues in trade, investment, and large-scale project delivery across Africa.
Strategic Timing for Canada-Africa Relations
Organizers have highlighted that this edition arrives at a critical moment for Canada-Africa relations, as both regions actively seek to deepen economic cooperation. Nigeria, being one of Africa's largest and most dynamic economies, offers a strategic gateway for Canadian firms looking to enter and expand in the market. Similarly, it provides African partners with access to capital, expertise, and global markets.
Garreth Bloor, President of the Canada-Africa Chamber of Business, emphasized that the chamber has built on over three decades of convening excellence, serving as a privately funded, business-to-business platform that advances commercial partnerships aligned with Canada's trade diversification strategy and Africa's economic growth.

The High Commission of Canada in Nigeria has expressed support for the conference, noting that Canada brings a unique combination of capital, credibility, and world-class expertise in sectors crucial to Africa's growth, including mining, infrastructure, financial services, and clean technologies.
Bloor added that the chamber has successfully delivered high-level conferences across the continent, bringing together hundreds of delegates and facilitating meaningful commercial outcomes. The first day of the conference will feature packed events and speeches, while the second day will focus on executive-level engagements with members and sponsors.
