FinTribe, a Pan-African women-focused financial empowerment platform, took center stage at the 'Give to Gain' summit hosted by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development. The event was held recently in Abuja.
Partnership with SEC
At the summit, FinTribe convened a finance panel in partnership with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to advance women's participation in Nigeria's capital markets. FinTribe representatives noted that the summit represented a pivotal moment in efforts towards educating and empowering women with the power to shape policy and influence stakeholders in the financial sector.
They further noted that it is a space where FinTribe, the SEC, and government stakeholders could collectively commit to dismantling barriers and creating more pathways for women's participation in structured wealth-building.
Founder's Remarks
The founder of FinTribe, Jennifer Awirigwe, described the summit as a high-level policy and stakeholder gathering for deepening conversations around women's economic power. Awirigwe, while appreciating the organizers of the summit, stated that she was grateful for the commitment reflected in the words of the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, who underscored that 'my legacy is building women's economic power.'
The FinTribe boss said the finance panel served as more than a knowledge-sharing platform; she said it positioned FinTribe as an active partner in Nigeria's financial inclusion ecosystem, working at the intersection of education, policy, and systemic change.
Educational Impact
Participants at the panel were introduced to evidence-based strategies for women's wealth-building, portfolio structuring, and long-term investment planning—topics that bridge the gap between financial literacy and capital market participation. Awirigwe said that FinTribe's presence at such high-level forums reinforces its dual role as an educator equipping women with knowledge and as a thought leader shaping conversations around women's economic power at policy and stakeholder levels.
Through initiatives like its Wealth Builders Academy and ongoing training sessions, FinTribe continues to build informed, confident women investors that Nigeria's capital market needs. The FinTribe boss said that they remain committed to convening these conversations and translating them into scalable, measurable impact for women across Nigeria and the broader pan-African region.
