The Nigerite Staff (Ikeja) Co-operative Multi-purpose Society has appointed new executive members to oversee the society's affairs for the next two years. The elections took place during its 35th yearly general meeting.
New Leadership Pledges Reform
The newly elected President, Adegbite Olusegun, in his acceptance speech, pledged to prioritize transparency, inclusiveness, and innovation. He described his emergence as a call to service rather than a ceremonial elevation. Olusegun stated that the responsibility entrusted to him marks a commitment to serve with integrity, vision, and dedication to the growth and sustainability of the society.
Key Focus Areas
Olusegun outlined key focus areas for his administration. He began with accountability and transparency, noting that while these have been foundational, they will be further strengthened under his leadership. He also emphasized the need to improve investment strategies and financial management to enhance the cooperative's performance. According to him, new initiatives will be introduced to expand investment opportunities and ensure prudent utilization of resources. On inclusiveness, he assured members that the administration would deepen alignment and participation.
Outgoing President's Farewell
The outgoing President of Nigerite Cooperative, Olanrewaju Kazeem, expressed appreciation to members for their unwavering support. He stated that their trust, loyalty, and active participation have remained the foundation of the cooperative's success. He also commended the Management Committee, Supervisory Committee, Law Committee, and other officers for their contributions to what he described as a successful administrative year.
