The association announced its forthcoming SCAN Dockworkers' Day 2026, scheduled for May 28, 2026, at Rockview Hotels Apapa, Lagos, starting at 10 am. Participants will explore the achievements of dockworkers in sustaining the nation's economy and outline pathways for enhancing their roles in the emerging green economy.

According to the organizers, the event will feature Alhaji Aminu Umar, President of the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping, as the keynote speaker. Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, Deputy President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and former President-General of the Maritime Workers' Union of Nigeria (MWUN), will serve as the Chairman of the occasion.
