The Managing Director of Eniola Travels Hub, Agidi Eniola Oluwasegun, made history on Thursday, May 14, 2026, after emerging as the first travel consultant to be issued a Practicing License by the Federal Government of Nigeria under the newly approved professional regulatory framework for the tourism, travels and hospitality industry.
Landmark Induction Ceremony
The landmark induction and licensing ceremony was organised by the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism. The induction was sequel to the official approval of the regulatory Act in March this year, making all inducted professionals the pioneer set of licensed practitioners in Nigeria's tourism and hospitality industry.
Oluwasegun was also inducted as a Pioneer Executive Senior Member (Travel Agency industry), becoming one of the youngest pioneers in the industry and the very first professional from the travel agency sector to receive the prestigious federal practicing license.
Ceremony Theme and Attendees
The induction ceremony, themed, 'Professional Regulation as a Catalyst for Service Excellence and National Development' was attended by top government dignitaries and major stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality sector, including the Minister of Tourism, Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa.
The pre-certification training and professional programme commenced on May 13, 2026, where participants underwent intensive competency-based assessments, professional training, interviews and examinations as part of the Institute's regulatory requirements.
Qualification and Recognition
Having successfully satisfied all prescribed conditions of the Institute's registration process and having been found worthy in character, competence and professional conduct, Oluwasegun was formally inducted and licensed by the Federal Government. His recognition further positions him as a trailblazer and pacesetter in the nation's travel and tourism ecosystem.
A seasoned tourism entrepreneur with over a decade of active industry experience, Oluwasegun holds both a Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) and a Master's Degree (M.Sc.) in Tourism/Travels and Hospitality Management. He has continued to distinguish himself through professionalism, innovation and dedication to the development of Nigeria's tourism and travel sector.
