In a significant act of seasonal charity, a Gombe-based foundation has provided substantial food support to the Christian community in the state to mark the Christmas celebration.
Substantial Donation for Festive Cheer
Velocity Humanitarian Foundation has donated six hundred bags of rice, each weighing twenty-five kilogrammes, to the Gombe State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). The presentation took place on Friday, December 26, 2025. The foundation intends for the items to be distributed to Christian families across the state to help them celebrate Christmas with greater joy and comfort.
Foundation's Message of Unity and Support
The donation was presented by Adamu Aliyu Ibrahim, who represented the foundation's founder, Engineer Aliyu Mohammed Kombat. In his address, Ibrahim stated that the gesture reflects the organisation's ongoing dedication to humanitarian service and assisting vulnerable groups, particularly during festive periods when family needs increase.
He emphasised that the initiative was designed to encourage love, unity, and compassion within the community. A core objective is to ensure that less privileged individuals can participate fully in the festive season's celebrations.
The foundation publicly commended the leadership of CAN in Gombe for its persistent efforts in building peace across the state. It also entrusted the association with the crucial task of ensuring the fair and equitable distribution of the rice through churches in all localities.
CAN Leadership Expresses Gratitude
In his response, the State CAN Chairman, Reverend Joseph Shinga, warmly thanked the Velocity Humanitarian Foundation for its generous support. He affirmed that the donation would make a profound difference by allowing vulnerable members of the community to celebrate Christmas with dignity.
Reverend Shinga used the opportunity to call on other affluent individuals and organisations within society to emulate this noble example by extending support to those in need, enabling them to also enjoy the festive period.
Furthermore, the CAN chairman offered advice to Christian youths, urging them to celebrate responsibly and strictly avoid any involvement in illicit activities during the Christmas and New Year festivities.
Reaffirming Commitment to Community Partnership
The foundation reiterated its steadfast commitment to collaborating with faith-based and community organisations to deliver impactful humanitarian interventions. This strategy aims to uplift lives and fortify the bonds that hold communities together.
This donation by the Velocity Humanitarian Foundation stands as a practical demonstration of interfaith solidarity and corporate social responsibility during a season dedicated to giving and goodwill.
