Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has delivered a powerful Christmas exhortation to Nigerians, urging them to seek the ultimate divine present: Jesus Christ.
A Timely Call for the Yuletide Season
The revered cleric made this appeal during a special 'Go-a-fishing' evangelism session held at the National Stadium on Christmas Day, December 25. He emphasized that the festive period, traditionally known for gift-giving, is the perfect time to covet and accept the greatest gift ever offered to humanity.
Pastor Adeboye declared that possessing this divine gift guarantees a life free from failure and lack, regardless of the prevailing economic challenges in the nation. "Anyone who possesses the Gift will never end up a failure and no matter the state of the economy, such a person will never lack," he assured the congregation.
The Eternal Gift Versus Earthly Possessions
Drawing a sharp contrast, the RCCG leader explained that while human gifts are temporary, God's special offering is everlasting. He provided vivid examples to illustrate his point.
"If man gives you money, it can develop wings and fly away; if man gives you clothes, they will either be worn out or go out of fashion; if it is a car you are given, it will depreciate," Pastor Adeboye stated.
He described Jesus Christ as the all-encompassing gift who provides the ability to sleep soundly, grants peace of mind, and serves as a True Friend who remains forever faithful. "Therefore, the best gift that is all encompassing that man can ever have is 'Jesus Christ'," he concluded.
A Package of Divine Love and Transformation
Echoing and elaborating on the General Overseer's message, Pastor Dele Balogun, the Special Assistant on Administration and Pastor in charge of Region 1, RCCG, described God's Special Gift as a complete package of love.
He listed the blessings associated with accepting Jesus Christ, which include:
- Victory over enemies and diverse challenges
- Divine favour and breakthrough
- Prosperity and healing
"God's Special Gift has no limitation," Pastor Balogun emphasized. He further urged believers to emulate the character of Christ, aspiring to be holy, merciful, righteous, and compassionate just as He is.
Importantly, Pastor Balogun connected spiritual acceptance to tangible societal change. He stated that genuine proof of receiving Jesus Christ would be seen in the rejection of all forms of evil. "The proof of accepting the Special Gift... is that perpetrators of kidnapping, insecurity and all forms of vices should nib all of them in the bud," he asserted, calling for a moral rebirth in the nation.
The Christmas message from the RCCG leadership presents a spiritual blueprint for navigating life's uncertainties, positioning faith as the cornerstone for both personal success and national healing.
