Fr. Ebube Muonso: Nigeria's Future is Pregnant, Calls for Love in 2025 Christmas Message
Catholic Priest Says Nigeria's Future is Pregnant

In a powerful Christmas Day address, a prominent Catholic priest from Anambra State has issued a dual message of hope and caution to Nigerians. Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, widely known as Fr. Ebube Muonso, emphasized the core Christian principle of love while making a startling pronouncement about the nation's destiny.

A Christmas Call for Love and Leadership

Delivering his message on December 26, 2025, the Spiritual Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry in Uke, Anambra State, stated that the essence of Christ's birth is love. He called on all Nigerians, particularly Christians, to make this virtue the foundation of their lives and communities.

"The seed of Christianity is love," Fr. Obimma declared. He explained that Christ's purpose was sacrificial, meant to give life to humanity. Drawing a parallel to governance, he urged Nigerian leaders to govern with a divine purpose. "They must understand that God entrusts poor Nigerians into their hands. Therefore, they must do everything possible to show love and put smiles on the faces of the citizens," he stated, calling this action the true summary of Christmas.

The fiery preacher stressed that authentic Christianity is impossible without demonstrating Christ's love, which he defined as loving one's neighbor as oneself. He encouraged maintaining peace within communities to collectively confront societal ills. "Let us emulate Christ, who is our Christmas; knowing that in Christ, we triumph, but without Christ, we are in crisis," he advised.

A Cryptic Prophecy: Nigeria is Pregnant

Moving beyond the festive exhortations, Fr. Ebube Muonso shared a sobering and cryptic vision concerning Nigeria's future. He raised an alarm, describing the nation's outlook as being in a state of expectancy filled with potential uncertainty.

"Nigeria is pregnant. As far as 2026 is concerned, Nigeria is pregnant. That is what I can say for now. The future of Nigeria is pregnant; it is only God that can save this country," the priest revealed.

While he chose not to elaborate on the specific events that might befall the nation in the coming year, he affirmed his commitment to spiritual intervention. "As a prophet of the Most High God, I will continue to pray that the Holy Ghost will intervene in the affairs of Nigeria. It is only God that can save this country from what is happening, and what is to come," Fr. Obimma said.

Foundation Embodies Message Through Charity

Aligning his words with action, the cleric highlighted the annual outreach efforts of the Fada Ebube Muonso Foundation. The event, held in his country home of Nkwelle-Ezunaka in Oyi Local Government Area, provided cash, rice, and other support for the Christmas celebration of indigent community members.

Fr. Obimma traced his philanthropic journey back to his days as a seminarian, when he used his pocket money to support the less privileged during Christmas. "After my ordination, I magnified it. But after the demise of my mother, I raised it higher to be a monumental foundation for the alleviation of poverty and burden from the poor masses," he explained.

The foundation's impact is extensive, supporting thousands through:

  • Free education in secondary schools, universities, and seminaries.
  • Diverse aid programs for hundreds of widows and indigent persons.

He described the gathering as a special occasion for thanksgiving, celebration, unity, and sharing, allowing the community to rejoice in God's goodness during the Yuletide season.
