A new religious movement has officially sprung up in the bustling commercial capital of Nigeria, presenting itself as a distinct path separate from established Christianity. Named God of White Calling, the faith was publicly announced in the Ile-Epo area of Ikotun, Lagos State.
Prophet Announces Divine Mandate in Lagos
The revelation of this new doctrine was made by Prophet Odedoyin Olawumi Ezekiel, who serves as the president of Christ For All Souls Ministries. According to his account, the inception of God of White Calling was not a human decision but a direct instruction from the divine creator of the universe.
Prophet Ezekiel asserted that God never officially announced Christianity as His religion. He referenced biblical mentions of the term "Christian" in Antioch, by King Agrippa in Acts 26:28, and by Peter in 1 Peter 4:16. However, he claimed that the name "God of White Calling" was given directly to him by God, marking it as a previously unrevealed title meant to be the faith people should now follow.
"God told me that people must worship Him with a clean act, that He hates sin," the prophet stated, adding that promises of power and other blessings were attached to this new worship.
Distinct Beliefs and Universal Authority
When questioned about what differentiates his religion from Christianity, and the significance of the sword in its logo, Prophet Ezekiel outlined several key points. He emphasized that while Christianity focuses on Christ, God of White Calling prioritizes recognizing and honoring the creator of the world.
He identified the divine being that appeared to Moses as the same entity that has now appeared to his followers. The sword in the logo, he explained, symbolizes the word and signifies that every member has access to spiritual power and authority.
"Every member is performing signs and wonders in the new religion," he declared. "The authority is not meant for only the minister; we are all dominators, we rule, command and do not suggest." This suggests a radical departure from hierarchical religious structures, promoting a form of spiritual empowerment for all adherents.
A Challenge to Established Religious Leaders
The prophet issued a stern warning against the exaltation of certain religious figures. He argued that any leader who has died and not resurrected lacks the power to save. He accused followers of overrating some Christian leaders and expressed a fear that if left unchallenged, the name of Christ could be overshadowed within 50 years.
Prophet Ezekiel was particularly critical, questioning the traceable history and spiritual knowledge of some revered figures. "They didn't go to school when they were alive, they didn't roll out any prophecy or deliver messages, and only few people followed them," he claimed. He boldly stated that such leaders would be learning from him if they were alive today.
He concluded with a direct challenge: "We have challenged their followers. Their leaders should come out to raise the dead." This statement positions the God of White Calling movement as one that demands tangible, miraculous proof of authority from its competitors in the Nigerian religious landscape.
