In a startling spiritual announcement that has captured national attention, prominent Nigerian cleric Pastor Ayo Akerele has released what he describes as "strange revelations" concerning Nigeria's future. The pastor, who leads Rhema Assembly and founded Voice of the Watchmen Ministries in Ontario, Canada, claims these visions came during years of intense prayer and fasting for the nation.
The Source of the Prophetic Revelations
According to Pastor Akerele, these prophecies emerged from over a decade of dedicated intercession for Nigeria. He revealed spending countless midnight hours and international conferences praying for what he calls "a burden for a new nation to emerge." The cleric explained that he initially kept these revelations private, sharing them only with senior spiritual leaders, but felt compelled to make them public as some predictions had already materialized.
"Over the past ten years, I have devoted significant time to praying for Nigeria," Akerele stated. "The Lord began to show me vivid insights about Nigeria, its government, ministers, and even global political figures. Many of these revelations were astonishingly accurate."
The Four Disturbing Prophecies for Nigeria
Vision of Economic Devastation Under Buhari
The first prophecy concerns former President Muhammadu Buhari's administration. Akerele claims he received a vision shortly after Buhari took office portraying the government as a source of prolonged hardship. "The Lord spoke clearly that Buhari's administration would act as a devourer," the pastor asserted. He likened the administration to Biblical Midianites, insisting it would "consume Nigeria, bone to bone" and bring unprecedented poverty for eight years.
Warning of National Division
Perhaps most alarming is the second vision involving Nigeria's territorial integrity. Akerele described seeing a map of Nigeria split into two parts. "A sign appeared dividing the map from top right to lower left," he revealed. "Whether sooner or later, Nigeria may be split, but when, I do not know." Additional visions showed desolate, war-torn environments resembling scenes from Mogadishu, with abandoned buildings and widespread fear.
Terror Attack at Lagos International Airport
The third prophecy involves a specific security threat. Akerele described a vivid revelation of terrorists attacking Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. "It was so vivid that I jumped out of bed trembling," he recalled. "Bullets were flying past my head as I crawled for safety. I knew danger was imminent." The vision prompted him to cancel a planned trip to Nigeria that year, believing the warning was both urgent and symbolic.
Nationwide Bloodshed and Famine
The fourth revelation paints a grim picture of nationwide devastation. Akerele said he saw neighborhoods across Nigeria in complete ruin, with collapsing buildings, blood flowing through streets, and citizens struggling to find basic necessities. "The devastation was overwhelming," he described. "Some streets were flooded with human blood. I woke with a sense of dread."
A Call for National Repentance and Hope
Despite the dire warnings, Pastor Akerele insists Nigeria's fate is not sealed. He emphasizes that national repentance and genuine unity can reverse the impending disasters. Quoting biblical scripture, he stated: "Whenever evil prevails in a land, God's judgement inevitably falls. But if my people humble themselves and turn from wickedness, the Lord will heal the land."
The pastor criticized what he called superficial spiritual responses, stressing that righteousness—not political slogans, fasting alone, or wishful confessions—forms the true foundation for national transformation. "The Church has lost its light," he warned. "But united prayers, born out of righteousness, can cut off the head of the Goliath of terrorism."
Akerele expressed hope that Nigeria can still experience revival and restructuring if citizens and spiritual leaders take responsibility. He described Nigeria as "a captured nation, held by terrorist sponsors, economic vampires and political undertakers," but maintained that collective spiritual intervention could change the nation's trajectory.
