CASSON Appoints Hammed as Counselling Institute Director

The Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON) has officially appointed Professor Ayo Hammed as the Director of the newly established Counselling Institute of Nigeria. This institute is designed to provide ongoing professional development opportunities for counsellors and allied professionals across the country.

According to CASSON, the appointment was made in recognition of Hammed's exceptional professional competence, extensive experience, and demonstrated leadership within the counselling profession. The association emphasized that these qualities make him well-suited to guide the institute's growth and impact.

Part-Time Strategic Role

CASSON clarified that the director position is part-time, intended to support the institute's launch and subsequent development in alignment with the association's policies and professional objectives. Hammed will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, overseeing daily operations, and coordinating programmes aimed at strengthening professional training and development in the counselling sector.

The director will work closely with heads of training and programmes, administration and finance, and information and communication technology to ensure the effective delivery of the institute's objectives.
