The Aiguobasinmwin Movement Worldwide has officially declared its support for Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, widely known as POI, as their preferred candidate for the Edo South Senatorial seat in the upcoming 2027 general elections. The group made this announcement on Friday, signaling a strong commitment to local representation and autonomy.
Group's Stance on Local Representation
In a statement issued in Benin City, key leaders of the movement, including President Mr. Iyamu Osaro Culture, Assistant Secretary Mr. UhunomaEwere Lucky, and Diaspora Coordinator Mr. Monday Ohuimumwen JP, emphasized their unwavering resolve. They cautioned other sub-ethnic groups within Edo State to refrain from interfering in the political affairs of the Edo South Senatorial District.
The group asserted that the people of Edo South are politically astute and fully capable of making informed decisions regarding their representation. They firmly rejected any external influences seeking to impose a senator on the district, reinforcing their commitment to local autonomy and self-determination.

The movement warned that any attempt to challenge their decision would be met with strong opposition. They urged individuals from Edo North and Central to concentrate on their respective senatorial districts instead of meddling in Edo South's affairs.
