Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun Unveils Revolutionary AI Education Platform
In a landmark move for educational advancement, Ogun State has officially launched OgunLearn, an Artificial Intelligence-powered teaching and learning platform that promises to reshape the educational landscape. Governor Dapo Abiodun unveiled this groundbreaking initiative at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta, marking a significant milestone in the state's digital transformation journey.
Comprehensive Digital Learning Solution
Governor Abiodun emphasized that OgunLearn represents a comprehensive solution designed to modernize classrooms and empower both teachers and students. The platform, officially named the Ogun Learning Enhancement and Academic Resource Network, provides extensive lesson resources and interactive learning support for students while enabling educators to plan lessons more effectively, access teaching materials, and track student performance with greater efficiency.
The governor highlighted that OgunLearn was specifically developed to promote creativity, digital thinking, and self-paced learning among students. Beyond delivering standard educational content, the platform aims to nurture essential skills including accountability, analytical thinking, and lifelong learning capabilities that are crucial for success in the 21st century.
Strategic Education Reform Agenda
Governor Abiodun positioned OgunLearn as a key component of the state's broader Education Digital Transformation Agenda, known as OGSERA. This initiative reflects the administration's commitment to leveraging technology to strengthen educational institutions, empower teachers, and significantly improve learning outcomes across Ogun State.
The governor outlined several complementary education and skills development initiatives that form part of the state's comprehensive reform strategy:
- Ogun Skills Fund – Designed to enhance employability among graduates

- Ogun-Rehab – Infrastructure modernization initiative for schools

Governor Abiodun explained that exposing students to Artificial Intelligence concepts through OgunLearn will help build a workforce capable of innovating locally while competing effectively on the global stage. The governor proudly noted that Ogun State operates as the only Nigerian state with both a Skills Qualifications Awarding Body and an accredited training center, enabling learners to become globally recognized digital professionals. Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, recalled how the state effectively leveraged technology during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure uninterrupted learning.
