Onagbeso Damilola, a Nigerian accounting and finance professional, has successfully completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Babcock University after a five-year journey that he describes as one of the most testing periods of his life. In a LinkedIn post on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, Damilola shared that he came close to quitting multiple times, not due to a lack of ability, but because of sheer exhaustion from juggling work, family, and academic demands.
“More than once, I came close to walking away — not because I lacked the ability, but simply because I was tired,” he wrote on LinkedIn. The cumulative weight of professional responsibilities, family life, research deadlines, and other commitments had worn him down, making the MBA journey far more demanding than he had anticipated when he first enrolled.
Academic and Professional Credentials
Damilola’s MBA caps a long and deliberate journey through education and professional certification. His credentials now include a B.Sc. in Economics, the AAT (Accounting Technician Scheme) under the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), an ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) designation also from ICAN, and the freshly earned MBA from Babcock University. He reflected that each qualification represented a distinct season of discipline and sacrifice, and none arrived without significant personal cost.

Looking ahead, Damilola hinted that a second master’s degree may be on the horizon. “There may or may not be a second master’s degree somewhere on the horizon,” he wrote, closing his post with a note of gratitude to God for the grace to finish what he had started.
