On June 25, 2026, BellaNaija, in partnership with Google Gemini, launched the Next Gen Creator House in Lagos, Nigeria—a full-day immersive workshop designed to equip young creators aged 18 to 25 with skills and knowledge for the digital economy. The event brought together promising creators, industry leaders, and technology experts for learning, collaboration, and innovation.

Industry Experts Share Insights

Panel sessions and fireside chats featured notable personalities including Toke Makinwa, Tosin Ajibade, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Korty O, Abisola Alawode, Uzoamaka Power, and Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade. Toke Makinwa urged creators to be hungry for success, following unconventional paths. Enioluwa emphasized treating content creation as work: “You should provide structure around what you do, have your work hours, and team if you can afford it. Above all, create.” Korty shared the secret to her interviews: “Be interested in your guests, be curious about them and their journeys – that is the only way you can have great conversations with them.”

Practical Workshops and AI Integration

Beyond panels, participants engaged in hands-on workshops, creator challenges, and interactive discussions. The practical Google Gemini session taught attendees how to make music, create designs, write prompts, and more using AI. Abisola Alawode advised young creators who cannot afford entrepreneurship to create within their organizations, respecting policies and visions. Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade encouraged constant analytics checking to guide content creation. Uzoamaka Power urged authenticity over trend imitation, while Tosin Ajibade advised: “Follow the trend but evolve while at it.”

20 Years of Positive Storytelling

As BellaNaija celebrated its 20th anniversary, Head of Editorial and Innovation Oluwadunsin Sanya urged creators to avoid sensationalism: “The stories you tell today are the stories we’ll become tomorrow.” Mary Edoro, Chief of Staff and Head of Strategy, called the Next Gen Creator House BellaNaija's answer to genuinely investing in the next generation: “This wasn't just a conference about young creators. It is a space we have intentionally built for them, with the tools, mentorship, and access to actually build something real for Africa’s future.”

Impact on Creator Economy

As the creator economy reshapes how people learn, connect, and build careers, BellaNaija aims to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity. Over 200 young creators attended the event, gaining practical knowledge in content creation, storytelling, personal branding, audience growth, and responsible use of emerging technologies like AI. The initiative underscores the importance of investing in youth for Africa's digital future.
